Who is Evan Durand

Evan has been studying Brazilian jiu jitsu for the past 10 years, and was awarded his black belt from professor Marcio Feitosa in February of 2012. Evan has been studying under and working with professor Rodrigo Carvalho since his arrival to Canada in 2009. Beginning instructing at the blue belt level Evan has been teaching for the last 8 years and has been running the kids program at Gracie Barra Vancouver for the past 4. With a positive attitude and true passion for the art he knows how to get the most out of each student. As well as having a black belt in bjj Evan also holds a black belt in the art of Hapkido. Hapkido is a self defense based art witch he believes compliments his training in bjj by having a deeper understanding for the principles of why and how techniques are applied
